Black, Indigenous, and people of color are severely underrepresented in the yoga community. We would like to see more BIPOC yoga teachers in yoga communities. In addition, the maternal mortality and morbidity rate is disproportionately high for Black women and birth givers in the United States. We understand the gravity of this problem and strive to be a part of the solution. While we do not think that yoga is THE solution, we believe that yoga can be a fantastic tool within a system of support for improving the health and well-being of all pregnant and postpartum people.
Poppy Perinatal Yoga is offering 20 full scholarship spots to BIPOC yoga teachers and birth workers (or aspiring) for the 3-Day Poppy Perinatal Yoga Teacher Training on January 1-3, 2021. Complete information about the training is here.
