BIPOC and people of color are hugely underrepresented in the yoga community. We would like to see more yoga teachers of color in the yoga industry. In addition, the maternal mortality and morbidity rate is disproportionately high for black women and birth givers in the United States. We take this problem seriously and strive to be a part of the solution. While we do not think that yoga is THE solution, we believe that yoga can be a fantastic tool within a system of support for improving the health and well-being of pregnant and postpartum people.
Poppy Perinatal Yoga is offering 8 full scholarship spots to yoga teachers and birth workers (or aspiring) of color for the 3-Day Poppy Perinatal Yoga Teacher Training in Houston, TX on July 24-26, 2020.
