- Specific postpartum yoga practices that promote healing and support after childbirth, including vaginal birth, surgical birth, VBAC, and pregnancy loss.
- Use yoga practices to relieve pain, discomfort, anxiety, depression that could accompany pregnancy and postpartum.
- Understand the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum and apply that knowledge to help prenatal and postnatal students.

Catherine Allen (Level 5 Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher and Mentor, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher, RPYT, E-RTY-500) created this Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training after encountering an abundance of fear-based misinformation and limited support for the challenges she faced during her pregnancies, pregnancy loss, childbirth, and postpartum depression. Cat has taught countless pregnant and postpartum students throughout her 18-year teaching career and has learned immensely from birth professionals and experts. She weaves together all the collected wisdom from her personal and professional experiences to bring to you the most up-to-date information for teaching your pregnant and postpartum students. Cat teaches the 6-Day Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Training in the 9-Day Training.

Bridget Boland (Level 5 Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher) is a shamanic energy healer certified by The Four Winds, an award-winning writer, Forrest Yoga teacher, birth and death coach, and former attorney. Bridget strives to provide a sanctuary for students to explore their emotional, energetic and physical landscapes through breath, movement and energetic processes including soul retrieval and destiny retrieval. ELLEN HEED
Ellen Heed (Somatic Educator and Healer, Craniosacral Therapist, Sexological Bodyworker) has been educating students and clients about how to attain radiant health worldwide since the turn of the millennia. Using keen perceptual skills to accurately assess the needs of her clients, Ellen connects the dots and facilitates successful outcomes for health issues ranging from chronic pain and sexual dysfunction to emotional stagnation and nutritional imbalances. Ellen has pioneered new techniques for scar tissue remediation for women, and is a leading anatomy educator who trains yoga teachers, Sexological Bodyworkers, and other somatic professionals in the US and abroad. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Somatic Psychology and maintains a thriving practice in Los Angeles, California. ABOUT THE RETREAT CENTER:
LOTUS RANCH is located on 40 enchanting acres, just west of Wimberley, Texas. With low-EMF lodging, you are allowed to feel a chance of being free of modern technology. This is a healing property, known as “A Little Bit of Heaven” – Wimberley is just 15 miles west of San Marcos, off I-35 halfway between Austin and San Antonio, in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country. An easy drive 45 minutes from the Austin or San Antonio airports. For Houstonians, just a short 2.5-3 hour drive.
The facility is often used for yoga, meditation, art and spiritual retreats. Lotus Ranch enjoys sharing their peaceful location, designed for low-EMF exposure and fresh air. FAQs
When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is on September 6 at 3pm. The training starts at 4:30 on September 6. The training ends at 12pm on September 15. Check-out is at 1pm.
I‘ll be late / I’ll have to miss some of the training / I’ll have to leave early
100% attendance is required for a Certificate of Completion. However, this is a baby and parent friendly environment. You are welcome to pump or tend to your baby as often as you need.
Can I register these hours with Yoga Alliance?
This is an 85-Hour Registered Prenatal Yoga School (RPYS) with Yoga Alliance. If you would like to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT), you must complete an additional ten hours of coursework after the in-person training. If you only want continuing education credits: Once you successfully complete the training, you can submit your certificate to Yoga Alliance USA for continuing education credits.
What airport do I use? Where is it? How do I get there?
The nearest airports are the Austin or San Antonio airports, 45-minute drive from each airport. Around July 2019, you can join a private facebook group to arrange rideshares.
What are accommodations like?
You will be staying in the beautiful Lodge with 1-3 other people, one person per bed. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. All bathrooms are shared.
What are the meals like?
The meals will be freshly prepared by a professional chef. All meals will be gluten-free and sugar-free and DELICIOUS! We will have meals for vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters.
Can I stay an extra night?

Can I drink or smoke?
No smoking, recreational drugs, or alcohol is allowed on the retreat property during the retreat.
What does residential tuition cover?
Training curriculum, e-manual, all meals (dinner on the first day through breakfast and lunch on the last day), accommodations.
Is there a non-residential option?
Yes, there is. If you want to participate in the training but don’t want to stay at Lotus Ranch, then the non-residential tuition is $1250 Early Bird or $1650 Regular. It covers the training curriculum, digital manual, and includes a non-refundable $250 deposit.
What do I bring?
Bring 2 blocks, a yoga strap, a yoga mat, and a beach towel (or large yoga towel). If you have a bolster, please bring it. You will be putting your bolster to good use.
Is there laundry service?
There is self-service laundry on-site: 2 washers and 2 dryers.
Is there cell phone service?
Yes, there is.
Is there wifi?
There is complimentary wifi in the hall lounge. The service is fine for checking e-mail and limited surfing, however not for downloading large files, streaming, Pandora, etc.
Can I bring my baby and a caregiver?
Yes, you can! The cost for each baby is $45 (only covers lodging, not meals). The cost for each caregiver is $1020 for shared accommodations (covers all meals). You must submit the non-refundable $250 deposit to hold your caregiver’s spot.
Can I choose my roommate(s)?
Sure! Use the message box at the bottom of this page, and submit the names of your desired roommates.
I already completed Part 1 (the 3-Day Training). Can I attend only part of this training? What is my tuition?
If you graduated from Part 1 Training, then you are welcome to only attend September 9-15, 2019. This training will be different and more nuanced than Part 1. Check-in is on September 8th with dinner that night.
