It is risky to do yoga in the first trimester?
Do twists hurt the baby?
There is a plethora of fear-based misinformation about what pregnant and postpartum people can or can’t do in a yoga practice.
Learn what to do and break through the myths. These experiential workshops will introduce you to Poppy Perinatal Yoga, a practical and empowering approach to pregnancy and postpartum yoga. The yoga practices taught in this approach are founded on four principles: Breathe, Align, Support, and Soften. Feel in your body these four principles woven into an appropriate yoga practice for pregnancy and postpartum. The bottomline goal of the Poppy approach is to 1) help pregnant people prepare emotionally and physically for birth, and 2) help postpartum people adjust to their transformation with more ease and resourcefulness.
Each workshop encompasses approximately 2 hours of breathwork and asana, 20 minutes of meditation, and 40 minutes of Lecture/Q&A.
PLEASE NOTE THESE WORKSHOPS ARE ENTIRELY ONLINE.
Catherine Allen (Level 5 Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher and Mentor, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher, RPYT, E-RTY-500) created this Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training after encountering an abundance of fear-based misinformation and limited support for the challenges she faced during her pregnancies, pregnancy loss, childbirth, and postpartum depression. Cat has taught countless pregnant and postpartum students throughout her 18-year teaching career and has learned immensely from birth professionals and experts. She weaves together all the collected wisdom from her personal and professional experiences to bring to you the most up-to-date information for teaching your pregnant and postpartum students.
